<p>In a queue management method for a network interface card which provides an interface between a host and a wireless asynchronous transfer mode (WATM) based communication network, the method comprises the steps of: when transmitting (or receiving) a set of ATM cells over the wireless asynchronous transfer mode based communications network; a) transmitting (or receiving) the ATM cells in a first-in first-out manner under control of a memory pointer processor (406); b) determining, that a DLC (Data Link Control) error has occurred for a particular cell; c) recovering, from the DLC error by informing a controller (402) of the DLC error such that recovery from this DLC error occurs under the control of the controller (402) while any remaining cells in the set of ATM cells are transmitted under the control of the memory pointer processor (406); and d) repeating the above steps a-c until all ATM cells in the set of ATM cells are without error or generate a time-out condition. <IMAGE></p> |
