Partially coated workpieces and process for manufacturing same

Producing a component (4) with a partial, localised coating comprises the following: (a) galvanic precipitation of a thin layer of the coating material onto a self-supporting solder foil; (b) cutting of this foil into sections of required shape and size; (c) positioning and fixing of these sections on the component regions to be coated; (d) heating of the component the soldering temperature, with subsequent cooling. As a result, the thin layer forms a partial, localised protective coating with an intermediate lead layer (7) over a region (6) of the component.
