If no match is found, the process branches to production of a fresh pattern by a design aid (130). The pattern is positioned on a printing master for entry into an output device (140) supplying graphical data to a copier (200). The toner image (11) produced on a sheet (10) is transferred to the blank (20) in a predetermined position by softening and pressure (300), followed by heat treatment (400) to produce the finished dial (30).
