SUBSTITUTED IMIDAZO-FUSED 6-MEMBERED HETEROCYCLES AS ANGIOTENSIN II ANTAGONISTS, THE METHOD OF THEIR PREPARATION AND A PHARMACEUTICAL COMPONENT THEREOF

Substituted imidazo-fused 6-membered heterocycles of common formula (I), wherein R1, R2a, R2b, R3a, R3b, X, E, R6 represent the already stated function, whereas X might be excluded, E might represent a simple bond and A-B-C-D forms the basic atoms of 6-membered (un)saturated heterocyclic ring and contains from 1 to 3 nitrogen atoms. These compounds are prepared by direct alkylation of the alkaline salts of the heterocyclic compounds by properly protected benzylhalogenide, tosylate or mesylate derivatives. Compounds of common formula (I) are angiotensin II antagonists useful in the treatment of hypertension and congestive heart failure.
