PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower the friction resistance at the time of insertion and to improve persistence and preservable property by applying a hydrophilic polymer contg. a copolymer compsn. contg. ω-carboxy (meth)acrylate on the surface of a medical treatment appliance coated with polyisocyanate and subjecting this polymer to a heat treatment and alkaline treatment. SOLUTION: The surface of a polyurethane tube is coated with a tetrahydrofuran soln. of polyisocyanate and is dried. A methyl ethyl ketone soln. of the hydrophilic polymer consisting of the copolymer compsn. contg. the ω-carboxy (meth)acrylate is applied on this polyurethane tube and is dried and, thereafter, the tube is immersed into an aq. sodium hydroxide soln. to develop a swelling property. The polyurethane tube exhibits excellent easy slipperiness and lubricity wen the tube is swollen by a physiological salt soln. or water. The tube has excellent durability as well. |
