PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat recovery/utilization method for high heat utilization with respect to equipment cost, operating cost and the like by using a system of decomposing/synthesizing methyl formate so as to lower heat recovery temperature. SOLUTION: This method recovers heat by the reaction shown by formula I, and utilizes the recovered heat by the reaction shown by formula II in the presence of an alkali fluoride and zinc oxide. It is preferable to effect the reaction shown by formula I in a liquid phase in the presence of a strongly basic anion-exchange resin, and the reaction shown by formula II for the reactive distillation with methanol and carbon monoxide respectively supplied to the top and bottom of a distillation tower, wherein the reaction shown by formula I may be effected in the presence of, e.g. sodium fluoride as the alkali fluoride at normal pressure to 30atm and 0 to 250 deg.C, and the reaction shown by formula II at 0.5 to 20MPa and 50 to 250 deg.C. |
