AROMATIC POLYCARBONATE RESIN AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aromatic polycarbonate resin improved in hue and thermal aging resistance and a process for producing the same. SOLUTION: This resin is obtained by subjecting an aromatic dihydroxy compound and a carbonic diester to a melt polycondensation reaction and shows a loss of intrinsic viscosity of 5% or below and a color difference (ΔE) of 10 or below when a 2mm thick molded plate made of the resin is heated at 150 deg.C in air for 10 days.
