PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a dispersant capable of stabilizing the dispersibility of an inorg. material such as TiO2 and an org. material typified by an azo pigment such as pyrazolone in an aq. soln. over a long period of time by incorporating a hydrolysate obtd. by hydrolyzing water-soluble hemicellulose with hemicellulase as an effective component. SOLUTION: This dispersant for stabilizing the dispersion of an inorg. material such as TiO2 and an org. material such as an azo pigment in an aq. soln. contains a hydrolysate obtd. by hydrolyzing water-soluble hemicellulose with hemicellulase as an effective component. One or more amongβ-galactosidase,β-galactanase,α-arabinosidase,α-arabanase,β-xylosidase,β-xylanase,α- glucosidase,α-glucanase,β-glucosidase andβ-glucanase are used as the hemicellulase.
