PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably brake an electric motor by a braking current even if control lines are disconnected or a connector slips out in a motor-driven rear wheel steering device. SOLUTION: A microcomputer 31 controls a three-phase current output circuit 32, and rotates a motor by flowing a three-phase alternating current to coils 22au, 22av and 22aw of an electric motor through control lines 54a to 54c. The microcomputer 31 also supplies a signal to show normality and abnormality of steering control of rear wheels to a pilot signal output circuit 33. The pilot signal output circuit 33 supplies a pilot signal of a low or high level to a braking control circuit 41 through a pilot signal conductor 56 according to the signal, and allows current-carrying of the three-phase alternating current, or flows a direct current to the coils 22au and 22aw. When the pilot signal conductor 56 is put in a floating condition by disconnection and slipping-out of a connector, the braking control circuit 41 flows a direct current to the coils 22au and 22aw.
|
