<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain long service life by forming a deodorizing filter so that the coating weight of a deodorizing material between at the center part and the peripheral part in the vertical cross-section to the air flow direction is made different and the coating weight of the deodorizing material is increased toward the center part from the peripheral part to uniformly deteriorate the whole filter. SOLUTION: In the deodorizing filter for removing hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, other various malodor and the like contained in an exhaust gas flowing-in to a can from the outside in an automobile, the coating weight of the deodorizing material between the center part and the peripheral part in the vertical cross section to the air flow direction is made different and the coating weight of the deodorizing material is set gradually increased toward the center part from the peripheral part. And as the deodorizing material, activated carbon, zeolite or the acidic or alkaline component-sticking body is used alone or in combination and if necessary, as a catalytic component, one or plural elements selected from a group composed of Pt, Pd, Rh, Ru, Ir, Os, Au, Ce, La, Pr and the like are incorporated.</p> |
