PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To jet ink at a short period by setting the height of individual ink chamber lower on the outlet side as compared with the height at the intermediate part of an ink inlet communicating with a common ink chamber and an ink outlet communicating with the nozzle opening thereby enhancing the ink supply speed to the individual ink chamber. SOLUTION: Height of individual ink chamber 3 is set lower on the outlet side as compared with the height at the intermediate part of an ink inlet communicating with a common ink chamber 4 and an ink outlet communicating with the nozzle opening 5. Since the flow rate of ink is higher on the outlet side as compared with that on the inlet side when a piezoelectric element 1 contracts to cause deformation of a barrier wall 2, ink closer to the inlet side than the central part of the ink chamber 3 flows to the outlet side. The ink flowing to the outlet side is delivered from the opening 5. Since the quantity of ink to be supplemented to the ink chamber 3 can be reduced when the piezoelectric element 1 is reset, resetting time of the ink chamber 3 can be shortened and thereby the jet period can be shortened. |
