PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the occurrence of failures in a succeeding refining process by compensating as much as possible the error of precision in a plate thickness measurement at the time of the manufacture of the tapered plate. SOLUTION: In the figure, for the rate of change of the plate thickness of the tapered plate (a), the rate of change of a target plate thickness or the rate of change of an actual result plate thickness in a rolling process, is used. Also, for the speed of threading in the position of a plate thickness meter, a value obtained by calculating with the number of rotations of a transfer roll (b) nearest to the plate thickness meter and a speed arithmetic unit (c) from the diameter of transfer rolls, is used. Since the average time of the movement of the plate thickness meter (d) is known, a true plate thickness is estimated from these values according to a formula, te =to +(Δt/Δ1)×(v×T1 /2+T2 ) Where te is the estimated value of the true plate thickness, to is a plate thickness measured by the plate thickness meter, (Δt/Δ1) is the ratio of change of a target or the actual result plate thickness, (v) is the speed of threading in the position of the plate thickness meter, T1 is the average time of the movement, and T2 is a time lag in the response of a measurement.
|
