PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a material for a red color filter capable of giving a liquid crystal display having high contrast and color sharpness and excellent in heat resistance by crosslinking a polymer having repeating units comprising an azo- containing triphenylamine. SOLUTION: This material comprises a polymer having repeating units represented by formula I (A is formula II (X1 is (CF3 )2 or =O), formula III, formula IV or the like; R1 is H, CH3 , C2 H5 or C3 H7 ; Z is formula V (Y is NO2 or Cl), formula VI, formula VII., formula VIII or the like; and n is 50-1,000). The group of formula I is chromophore, and group A improves heat resistance and patterning characteristics. Group Z is an autochrome. This material is crosslinked with a crosslinking agent and an oxidizing agent and then used as a color filter. This can be desirably used in the production of a color filter by providing a step of using a mixture comprising the material, a crosslinking agent and an oxidizing agent as a negative resist. |
