PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent air not enough heat-exchanged from being blown off upon starting of heating operation. SOLUTION: In the air conditioner there is provided an air guide hole 5a in an upper surface of a blowoff outlet 5, communicated between a suction inlet 2 and a heat exchanger 3, and there is further provided an opening/closing plate 8 on the air guide hole 5a which is opened and closed by a driving device 9. Upon starting of heating operation, the blowoff outlet 5 is closed with an upper and lower air direction plate 7 for a predetermined time, and the opening/ closing plate 8 is driven to open the air guide hole 5a whereby air heat- exchanged in the heat exchanger 3 and fed to the blowoff outlet 5 with an air fan 4 is circulated from the air guide hole 5a to the heat exchanger 3. After the lapse of a predetermined time the air guide hole 5a is closed with the opening/closing plate 8, and the upper and lower air direction plate 7 is rotated to open the blowoff outlet 5. |
