PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To capacitate a wheel for its lightweightiness as securing the strength required by making a rim be made of fiber reinforced resins, and embedding a metal wire in each peripheral and part at both sides of this rim along the peripheral edge. SOLUTION: A fiber reinforced resin rim 2 and a metallic disk 3 are joined together as one body, and each of metal wires 4 and 4 is embedded in respective peripheral ends 2a and 2a at both sides of this rim 2 which is made up of impregnating thermosetting resin such as unsaturated polyester resin, epoxy resin, diallele phthalate resin or the like, in a reinforced fiber including those of carbon, glass, alamide fibers, by way of example. In addition. a metal wire 4 to be embedded in a peripheral edge part 2a of the rim 2 is, for example, a steel wire, or poano wire, etc., and respective two metal wires 4 and 4 are inserted and processed into the peripheral end parts 2a and 2a at both sides of the rim 2 parallelly in a ring form along each peripheral edge. With being structured like this, its weight is sharply reduced, while those of necessary strength and rigidity are maintainable. |
