PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To feed ink from an ink cartridge into a recording head without mixing air therein and increase the efficiency of use of ink. SOLUTION: In an ink cartridge provided with an ink chamber 65 filled with ink and a foaming chamber 66 storing a porous component 68 impregnated with ink and feeding ink from the ink chamber 65 into a recording head through an ink jet opening 73, an ink passage 67 provided on the lower end of a partition wall 63 parting both chambers is formed away from both side faces of the foaming chamber 66 by about 1/4 or more of the width of the foaming chamber. Even when a space still remains as the porous component 68 is not bonded completely with ridges of the foaming chamber 66, air is prevented from flowing into the ink chamber 65 through the space by the arrangement. |
