Disclosed is an ink composition which comprises water, a colorant, a nonionic surfactant, and a fluorinated material selected from the group consisting of (a) those of the formula [(F2n+1CnCH2S)2(CH3)C-CH2CH2COO-][B+], wherein n is an integer of from about 8 to about 20 and B is a cation, and (b) those of the formula [(F3C(F2C)nCH=CHCH2OCH(OH)CH2)2NCH2COO-][X+], wherein X is a cation. Also disclosed are ink jet printing processes employing the aforementioned ink.
