<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper size detector which does not vary with time by detecting a cutout pattern by detectors which are provided opposite to detected members fixed on the bottom part of the movably supported paper guide and forming the cutout patterns along the direction in which the paper guide is moved. SOLUTION: A paper guide 2 is fixed on one end of the top surface of a paper tray 3 and a paper guide 1 movably held along an elongated hole 3a made in the paper tray 3 in a horizontal direction is provided on the other end of the top surface of the paper tray 3. When a paper guide having a plurality of rectangular cutout patterns formed on the bottom part thereof along the direction in which the paper guide 1 is moved is moved in the direction of B or C, the detected members 4, 5 are also moved with the paper guide 1. The size of the paper is detected by detecting the position of the paper guide 1 by the combination of the detected members 4, 5 and detectors 7, 8.</p> |
