In the numerical control apparatus which performs the error detection communication using an error detection code or the error correction communication using an error correction code, monitoring means monitors the name of a communication line on which an error has been detected or corrected in the received data, the number of communication failures and the time of the communication, to output the monitored information. Error detection/correction status storing means observes and stores the information from the monitoring means for each communication line, to output the stored information as error detection/correction status information. Display means displays the information outputted from the error detection/correction status storing means in response to a command from an operator.
