<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a black pigment composition suited for the formation of a black matrix of e.g. a liquid crystal display by mixing a polymer compound such as styrene/maleic acid copolymer with a dispersing aid such as a metal phthalocyanine compound and a compound metal oxide pigment such as of copper or chromium. SOLUTION: The compound metal oxide pigment is desirably a high-resistance copper-chromium, copper-chromium-manganese, cobalt-iron-manganese system, which, among CI pigment Blacks 26, 27, 28, etc., shows flat light-shielding properties in the visible region of 400-700nm. It has desirably a means particle diameter of 1-1,000nm and a specific surface area of 1-30m<2> /g. The polymer compound, in which the compound metal oxide pigment is dispersed is desirably a carboxylic compound having units derived from maleic acid (anhydride and (meth)acrylic acid. As the dispersing aid, a copper phthalocyanine sulfonamide compound is particularly useful.</p> |
