PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a long drain type lubricating oil composition, having good low-temperature start-up properties, excellent in heat and oxidation stabilities and cleaning properties and useful for an internal combustion engine, etc., by including a prescribed amount of a specific pyromellitic acid ester therein. SOLUTION: This lubricating oil composition comprises a pyromellitic acid ester prepared by reacting pyromellitic acid with an alcohol obtained by mixing two or more <=10C alcohols such as n-octanol or 2-ethylhexanol in an amount of 5-100mass% based on the total base oil. The labor saving in maintenance control of a lubricating oil and reduction in maintenance cost can be carried out by using the composition. |
