The invention concerns in particular the nucleotide sequences coding for the P27 polypeptide of mycobacteria belonging to the Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex, and the corresponding polypeptide. These elements are useful particularly in the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases caused by mycobacteria, in particular tuberculosis.
