Disclosed is a new humic concentrate produced from natural caustobioliths of the carbon variety, and comprised mainly of hydrated humic acids, humic acid salts and mineral components of the inital caustobioliths that are chemically related to the humic acids present. The process for obtaining the new humic concentrate consists in placing a humic acid salt solution into an electrolytic bath, and in performing electrolysis in a common area between the anode and the cathode, provided that the electric potential established at the anode is sufficient to detach the anions from the humic acids. The end product resulting from electrolysis at the anode is then immediately removed from the electrolyte solution of humic acid salts, and separated from the anode. The equipment for performing the process to obtain the new humic concentrate is comprised of the following elements: an electrolytic bath with a body in the shape of a horizontally positioned trough, which is used as the cathode; a drum-shaped anode, disposed coaxially in said trough so as to be able to rotate about its longitudinal axis; and an apparatus for extracting the end product from the surface of said drum. The invention also relates to processes for protecting the environment from oppressive forms of pollution, and notably a process for purifying water of inorganic, organic, and microbiological contaminants, a process for dehydrating viscous-flow fluids, a process for detoxifying organic compounds, a process for utilizing wastewater sediments, a process for forming soils from natural and artificial ground and for restoring the condition and fertility to degraded soils, a process for obtaining artificial manure from organic waste, and a process for utilizing natural water sediments, said processes all implying application of the new humic concentrate. |
