The stall incorporates a floor supporting the animals and enclosed by upright walls and a roof. One or more fans (6) are mounted clear of the walls (3), and are driven so as to swing to and fro, blowing a current of air over at least part of the floor. One or more walls adjacent to the fan can contain an opening which can be shut off, and the fan can swing to and fro in the horizontal and/or vertical direction. The opening can contain an automatically-moved shutter, also a labyrinth open on the outside.
