PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate an easy grasping of a relative position within an imaging region after the enlargement processing against the imaging region before an enlargement processing by displaying on a display screen a line drawing which shows the display region prior to its enlargement and a line drawing which shows an enlargement area in the display region prior to an enlargement. SOLUTION: An enlargement area display means is constituted from a graphic memory 7 and a display image generating part 10. An ultrasonic signal received by a probe 2 is phased and processed by a phasing circuit 3 and ultrasonic imaging data is produced by a signal processing part 4 and is written in an image memory 5. The ultrasonic imaging data written in the image memory 5 is read out together with character data stored in a character data memory 6 and a line drawing data stored in a graphic memory 7, which are compounded at the display image generating part 10 and which are displayed at a display part 11. Here, the line drawing showing the display region prior to an enlargement and the line drawing which shows the enlarged area within the display region prior to the enlargement are displayed on the display screen. |
