PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a watertight composition good in cover-peeling property and having a sufficient strength and watertightness at a room temperature, and capable of sufficiently holding the effects even under high temperatures near to 100 deg.C, and to obtain a watertight insulating electric cable. SOLUTION: This watertight composition comprises 100 pts.wt. of one or more kinds of polymers selected from ultralow density polyethylene, low density polyethylene, low density linear polyethylene, and ethylene-propylene copolymer rubber and 1-50 pts.wt. of a water-absorbing swellable polymer having hydrophilicity. The watertight composition is charged into spaces between element wires 2 forming a conductor 4, and further forms a watertight composition layer 6 comprising the water-tight composition. An insulating layer 8 is further formed on the watertight composition layer 6 to produce a watertight insulating electric cable. |
