Equipment for accessing multimedia networks, which comprises a series of modules mounted on a motherboard in which several cards are inserted, with the aid of connectors and guides, in a number dependent on the services provided, operating the system by automatic recognition of their situation and configuration, which comprises three buses for transferring signals and data, a PC-type central processor 1, that has all the standard controllers 2 and peripherals of this platform; a card 3 that includes all the elements necessary for supporting telecommunications services; a series of interface cards 4 that provide the means of connection of the terminals to the node and of this to the telecommunications networks; and some PC-compatible 5 and MVIP-compatible cards. <IMAGE>
