This assembly is mounted in an opening consisting of a first member for the removable retention thereof against a second corresponding member in a locked position. The eccentric catch assembly comprises a handle adapted for rotation and pivoting. A rod comprises a unitary element connected with the handle. The handle is adapted to facilitate the axial movement of the rod when the handle pivotably rotates between opening and closure positions. Provision is made for a bushing (sleeve) on the rod adapted for the axial movement which corresponds with the movement of the rod. The bushing is adapted to removably retain the second member in a coupling arrangement with the first member when the handle is in the closed position. It also comprises a retention element in connection with the rod, which is adapted to secure the bushing in its position of mounting on the rod. <IMAGE>
