PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance an S/N by receiving lots of lights reflected irregularly in a reflecting body with a light receiving element and to improve the assembling work of components by simplifying the circuit configuration and eliminating the need for a work of folding leads of the components by hand especially. SOLUTION: A light emitting element 2 is placed in a way that its optical axis L1 is in crossing with a face of a transparent body 3 at an angle of 90 deg. or below. Similarly a light receiving element 5 is placed in a way that its optical axis L2 is in crossing with the transparent body 3 at an angleβ2 smaller than the crossing angleβ1 between the optical axis L1 of the light emitting element 2 and the transparent body 3 and the optical axis 2 is in crossing (cross point Q) with the optical axis L1 of the light emitting element 2 in the vicinity of a part of the transparent body with which a reflecting body 4 is in contact. A package 30 is placed in parallel with the transparent body 3. When the light emitting element 2 and the light receiving element 5 are contained in the package 30, the case folds tips of leads 12, 13 so as to be orthogonal to the transparent body 3.
