PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate the propagation of a wave motion without any error even in a propagation mode at a large angle and to estimate the propagation of the wave motion with high accuracy and with high efficiency by using a specific scalar Helmholtz equation and a specific wave-motion propagation expression. SOLUTION: By using a two-dimensional scalar Helmholtz equation which is expressed by Expression I and by using a wave-motion propagation estimation expression which results in Expression II and which has the form of a two-component first- order partial differential equation, the behavior in a far field of the propagation of a two-dimensional wave motion and that of the propagation of a cylinder-symmetrical three-dimensional wave motion are estimated. In Expression I, (x), (y) and (z) represent coordinate components in a two-dimensional coordinate space,ϕ(x, y) represents an arbitrary scalar field in the two-dimensional coordinate space, and k0 represents an arbitrary parameter. In addition, in Expression II, 6x and 6y represent two-row and two-column matrices called Pauli matrices, andϕ(x, y) is composed of componentsϕ1 (x, y),ϕ2 (x, y) as two component fields which can be expressed by Expression III. Thereby, the influence of various radio-wave sources, various acoustic sources, various vibration sources or the like on an environment can be evaluated with good efficiency.
