The component of a kitchen table is constituted by a panel comprising a stainless steel sheet (1) and a rigid non-metallic plate (2) fixed together. The plate is a totally impermeable compact laminate formed from several superposed paper sheets impregnated with synthetic resin. The impregnated sheets are joined under pressure at high temperature by a heat hardening resin. The kitchen table comprises a frame (3) constituted by beams (4) and cross members in the shape of a hollow closed section. This is fixed against a lower face of the laminated plate of the table top. Corner pieces assemble the beams and cross members to each corner of the frame. Feet are fixed in bores in the corner pieces. |
