PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain the deformation of an electrode due to charge/discharge by a layer, by providing the layer, containing material capable of storing and releasing a lithium ion, on the inner surface of a battery can, in housing positive and negative electrodes, capable of storing and emitting the lithium ion, in a wound condition into the battery can. SOLUTION: Negative electrode slurry is applied at given thickness to the inner surface of a nickel-plate battery can 4 to be dried to provide a layer 9 containing natural graphite capable of storing and emitting the same lithium ion as the negative electrode. A fine porous cost, having lithium ion permeability, is interposed as a separator between positive and negative electrodes 1 and 2, and they are spirally wound to be housed in the battery can 4, and then an nonaqueous electrolyte is injected into the battery can 4 to seal the battery can 4. After that, the positive electrode 1 is connected to the positive electrode lid 6 via a positive lead 5, also the negative electrode 2 is connected to the battery can 4 via a negative electrode lead 7, to electrically separate the battery can 4 and the positive electrode lid 6 by an insulating packing 8. |
