PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable non-destructive depth-wise quantitative analysis in a short time by detecting a transient acoustic signal from a sample employing an open type photoacoustic cell and using a pulse light as exciting light. SOLUTION: A pulse light emitted from a pulse light source 1 passes through a lens 4 and a water filter 5 for cutting heat of the light source to be analyzed into a wavelength to irradiate a sample 5 by a filter for spectral analysis or a spectroscope 6. The light spectrally analyzed is guided to an open type photoacoustic cell 10 by an optical fiber 7 for ultraviolet/visible light. In the photoacoustic cell 10, light is made to irradiate a sample through an opening part and the sample S generates a sound wave, which is detected by a microphone 13. The photoacoustic signal is recorded synchronizing the irradiation of a pulse to be integrated on a digital oscilloscope 22 or a personal computer 23. The results of the integration are displayed on the digital oscilloscope 22 or on the personal computer 23 thereby enabling the detecting of a transient photo-acoustic signal. |
