PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely and easily discriminate a machine type by picking up the image of alphanumeral described on an object to be discriminated for machine type, recognizing the alphanumeral by patterning it, and discriminating the machine type based on the recognized alphanumeral. SOLUTION: On one face of cylinder head CH, cast characters A, B and C showing the machine type are formed. At a position facing these cast characters A, B and C, a CCD camera (electrostatic coupling element camera) 1 is arranged and picks up the image of these characters A, B and C. The CCD camera 1 transmits an image signal for which the image-picked up cast characters A, B and C are photoelectrically transduced, to an image processor 2. The image processor 2 processes this image signal and patterns the characters A, B and C. After the characters A, B and C are recognized, the image processor 2 transmits the data of these characters A, B and C to a program logic controller(PLC) 3. When the data of characters A, B and C are inputted, the PLC 3 exclusively encodes these data and afterwards, the machine type corresponding to the characters A, B and C is discriminated. |
