An entering lane detecting section 36 detects an entering lane based on the variation of lane width or road width. A travel control section 22 enlarges the detecting region from its own lane to other lane when an entering lane is detected and monitors an entering vehicle. Subsequently, traveling speed of its own vehicle is controlled depending on the speed or inter-vehicle speed of the entering vehicle.
