PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make diameter small, lengthen life, and reduce material cost and production cost by setting the other end of each electrode so as to face the central part of a tube when each one end of two electrode plates piled up so as to interpose the tip on the inside of a lead-in wire to fix both sides of each one end of two electrode plates by pressurizing and welding. SOLUTION: When each one end of two electrode plates 2 piled up to the tip on the inner side of a glass tube 6 of a lead-in wire 4 is fixed by welding, both sides of each one end of two electrode plates 2 are pressurized and welded. Since the inner lead 5 of the lead-in wire 4 is crushed, the distance 1 between two electrode plates 2 is shortened, a cold cathode fluorescent discharge tube 36 can be formed in small diameter, and a process to previously press the inner lead 5 is omitted. Since the length on the inner side of the glass tube 6 of the lead-in wire 4 is shortened, the length (b) of the electrode plate 2 is made long by the length equivalent to the length shortened of the lead-in wire 4, and a getter material and an amalgam can be increased. |
