CELL FOR CHLOR-ALKALINE ELECTROLYSIS

The cell consists of pairs of anodes and cathodes arrangedis series, the surfaces of the cathodes being supplied with holesand covered by porous corrosion resistant diaphragms. The cellalso includes ingoing holes for the saline solution and ougoingholes for discharging the chlorine, hydrogen and sodium baseproduced. The anodes are of extending type and are supplied withinner elongators (extenders) and electrode surfaces having holesfor discharging the gaseous chlorine produced. They are suppliedwith at least one pressing device made of corrosion resistantmaterial which is elastic, intended to secure that the electrodesurfaces of the anodes should be under continuous evenlydistributed pressure in respect of the diaphragms. It ispreferable that the anodes should be supplied with fine extendednets, fixed on each of the electrode surfaces having hydrodynamicdevices for increasing the inner recirculation.
