In order to minimise the extension of a vehicle transmission due to the cantilevered fitting of an electric retarder (2, 3) with two rotor discs (9) and two rotor rings (10) on the casing of the box for this transmission, a single tubular insert (25) is provided between the box flange (14) and the journal cross (27) of the nearest cardan joint (15), the said insert externally carrying the two rings and being pierced radially by two bores forming bearings for two bearing necks of the journal cross with insertion of bearing bushes (34) and by two slots apt to allow the passage of bearing bushes (31) linked to the two other bearing necks (29) of the journal cross for their pivoting assembly on the fork (35) of the cardan joint. …<IMAGE>… |
