A porous, granulated product is described such as ammonium nitrate which is found in the form of a crystalline matrix which has hollow microspheres incorporated in the matrix in a concentration of 0.01 to 500 parts per million. A method for producing the beforementioned product is also described in which the microspheres are incorporated in the ammonium nitrate during the granulation of the last.
