摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of heat generation of an active matrix type liquid crystal device which has a peripheral driving circuit integrated. SOLUTION: The active matrix type liquid crystal display device having a structure wherein TFTs 102 and 103 constituting a peripheral driving circuit and a TFT 104 constituting an active matrix circuit are integrated on the same quartz substrate 101 has an aluminum nitride(AlN) layer 113, containing oxygen, arranged on the side of an opposite substrate 112. The aluminum nitride layer is much larger in thermal conductivity than silicon and silicon oxide, so heat generated by the elements 102, 103 and 104 is conducted through the aluminum nitride layer 113 and radiated.</p>
