PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a coefficient of use of a light beam for a light source, and form a brighter head lamp by the same light source, by forming expansive and auxiliary reflecting mirrors on a portion wherein light source light is unutilized so far. SOLUTION: A projector type head lamp 1 can be obtained by providing an expansive reflecting mirror 6 adopted as elliptical system reflecting surface (having the first focus of a light source 2, and a second focus in near to a projection lens 5) between a main reflecting mirror 3 and the projection lens 5, and an auxiliary reflecting mirror 7 adopted as a parabolic system reflecting surface having the focus of the light source 2, on the outer side of the projection lens 5 in nearly the same range. This can expand the lateral width of light distribution by the expansive reflecting mirror 6, and produce a spot-like high illuminance portion in the light distribution by the auxiliary reflecting mirror 7, thereby expanding visibility. |
