PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multipoint range finder where accurate range-finding is performed wherever a subject is positioned within an image plane. SOLUTION: Light for range-finding is projected to the subject by a light projecting means 51, and reflected signal light from the subject is received by a light receiving means 52. Then, light receiving position information or incident light quantity information are calculated based on the output of the light receiving means 52 by a light receiving position arithmetic means 54 or an incident light quantity arithmetic means 55. The light emission state of the projecting means 51 is switched by an arithmetic result. The range-finding is performed by the emitted light of the projecting means 51 switched.
