<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase an opportunity to utilize data of a buffer ring in a buffer as a cache by constituting a system to set two blocks in the storage area of the buffer, properly use the two blocks and prevent data of the buffer ring from being erased. SOLUTION: The storage area of the buffer provided in an optical disk device is divided into a fixing block Bf and a variable block Bv and the variable block Bv is divided into the two blocks Bva and Bvb. Then, the blocks Bva and Bvb are adopted as the ones for buffering sub-directory data and file data and divided with sub-directory data to be buffered as reference. That is, one block is set in accordance with the size of the sub-directory data which is buffered at that point of time, a remainder is set to the other block and buffering data is prevented from being erased.</p> |
