INSTALLATION FOR CONTINUOUS TREATMENT OF LIQUIDS AND DEWATERING AND DRYING OF THE SEPARATED NONFILTERING SOLID PARTICLES

The installation is used for the treatment of wasteindustrial or residential liquids and waters from natural watersources and for dewatering and drying of different suspensions. Itconsiderably reduces energy costs. The installation consists of astrip filter (1) with built-in filter sector (3) and an elasticthermofilter press (35). The individual non-filtering solidparticles (103) are continuously accumulated in the strip filter(1) and together with the liquids entering for treatment they aremixed forming a suspension the density of which continuouslygrows. When the density reaches a specific value the suspension ispumped from a condensing cone (9) mounted under the filter sector(3) and is compressed in the thermofilter press (35), the wetsludge (63) being dewated and dried in two stages. The first stageis formed from the pressure of a combined vacuum pressure pump(12) and the vacuum formed by a second vaccum pressure pump(10) . The second stage is formed simultaneously by thelongitudinal shrinking of the thermofilter press (35) whichsqueezes the wet sludge (cake) (63), by the extraction of theresidual capillary moisture under the effect of a "steam jacket"formed by thepartially evaporated residual liquid phase, and bythe vaccum of the second pump (104).4 claims, 11 figures
