PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevents the effect of cross talk from growing even if the track pitch is narrowed, and to achieve higher density recording. SOLUTION: One or more detectors provided for receiving reflected light from a disk are arranged to be divided into a plurality of light receiving areas in the direction of receiving light corresponding to the radius direction of the disk. And, it is arranged so that the detection outputs of these two or more receiving light areas are processed by a cross talk removal operation and the processed signals are decoded and reproducing data are extracted. The cross talk removal operation processing is assumed to be such an operation processing that gives larger gain to the output of a light receiving area AR2 positioned on the center side in the light receiving direction corresponding the radius direction than the outputs of other light receiving areas AR1, AR3. |
