PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable prevention of dropping of drain from the outer surface of a casing onto a floor surface even when a cooling operation is conducted in an environment of high humidity, without enlarging external dimensions of an air conditioner. SOLUTION: In an air conditioner having a construction wherein the inside of a casing 1 having an air intake 2 and an air outlet 3 is partitioned by a partition plate 4 into a fan chamber 5 wherein a fan 7 is provided and a heat exchange chamber 6 wherein a heat exchanger 9 is provided, and wherein a drain pan 8 receiving the drain dropping from the heat exchanger 9 is provided for the heat exchange chamber 6, an auxiliary drain pan 22 receiving the drain dropping from the outer wall of the heat exchange chamber 6 is provided removably for the casing 1 so that the dew (i.e., the drain D) formed on the outer wall of the heat exchange chamber 6 can be received by the auxiliary drain pan 22 at the time of a cooling operation in an environment of a humidity corresponding to the design condition or exceeding it. |
