PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent toner soil by composing so that a slide shutter is closed in conjunction with the operation of taking out a developer cartridge and an area of a developing-unit surface where the sliding front-end of it reaches at the end of the closing operation is positioned within a projecting area below the developer cartridge, thereby taking out scraped and gathered waste toner together with the cartridge. SOLUTION: When replacing the developer cartridge 10, the cartridge 10 is rotated by almost 90 deg.. Consequently, the slide shutter 68 of the developing unit, engaged with an engagement piece 122 in an engagement groove 78, rotates as well. When the stopper wall 69 of the slide shutter 68 butts against the end of a receiving plate 66, the slide shutter 68 stops in the position where a receiving port and a discharge port are shielded. Also, the positions of the supply port and take-in port of the developer cartridge 10 rotate 90 deg. and shielded by a shutter 98. This prevents toner from leaking out of both the developing unit and cartridge 10 even when the cartridge 10 is pulled out. |
