<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of attaining quick pointing and the movement of an analog value by the use of a keyboard without requiring a new pointing device. SOLUTION: In a normal key input mode, a key timing detector KDT reads out a character code corresponding to the key code KCD of a depressed key switch out of plural key switches KS1 to KSn by referring to a character storage table CTB and transmits the read character code to a host computer HST. In the case of executing pointing, the key input mode is switched to a movement mode by a mode switch MSW. The detector KDT restores the locus of a finger tip or the like by collating a continuous key code KCD string obtained by stroking the surface of the keyboard by the finger tip or the like with an arrangement storing table DTB recording the positional relation of key switches, converts the KCD string into moving direction and distance or a moving position, assembles the converted data as movement data PXY, transmits the data PXY to the host computer HST.</p> |
