PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the shaving quantity of an image carrier caused by the application of vibrating voltage, at the time of attaining electrification and to improve durability by specifying the increment of voltage with respect to the relative moving amount of the image carrier to an electrifying member as the starting speed while the wave of an AC voltage reaches the peak of amplitude as the AC voltage superimposed on a DC voltage. SOLUTION: The vibrating voltage where the AC voltage is superimposed on the DC voltage is applied to the core metal 2a of an electrifying roller 2 from a power unit 3, so that the surface of a rotationally driven photoreceptor drum 1 is electrified to a prescribed polarity and potential. Then, the AC voltage is one constituted so that the increment of the vibrating voltage with respect to the relative moving amount of an electrified means to an electrifying means, while the wave of the AC voltage reaches the peak of the amplitude from 0V, is <=50V/μm even in a part, where the inclination of the increase is maximum or one constituted so that a waveform is at a duty rate of <=50% and an equation of 2×frequency (Hz)×amplitude (V)/a relative moving speed (mm/sec) <50(v/μm) is satisfied.
