PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the light quantity of the head lamp of most automobiles being used at present, improve visibility and safety by fitting a D2R discharge tube to a head lamp, originally designed as an H4 tungsten hologen lamp, without impairing a characteristic such as a light distribution characteristic by extremely simple work. SOLUTION: This adaptor 1 is composed of a ring part 2, for making a burner 81 be placed at a position neary same as that of the low filament of an H4 tungsten halogen lamp by mounting the adaptor 1 on the base of a D2R discharge tube 80, to fit the adaptor 1 to a head lamp, and a hood part 3 for shielding light emitted to the lower side of the discharge tube 80 and a lens side. The ring and hood parts 2 and 3 are fitted to the discharge tube 80, thereby obtaining an adaptor 1 wherein the discharge tube 80 can be fitted to the head lamp adopted as the H4 tungsten halogen lamp. Consequently, the D2R discharge tube can be fitted to the head lamp originally designed for the H4 tungsten halogen lamp without impairing a characteristic such as a light distribution characteristic. |
